Unseens and Gods

They called themselves Unseens, as they didn’t have a form that living beings could comprehend – their real forms were so atrocious, that would drive anyone who saw them insane. They didn’t care if they bring madness to any human or elf. They were only pragmatic in their own cynical way – they used people as tools to make the universe spin as they please. Madness was not useful. Madness was overrated.

Created from pure unadulterated darkness, they played metaphorical chess game with the gods. None of them could win, because of natural balance – if any of the sides overpowered the other, the universe woud collapse under the weight of paradox.

No, they did it only to kill the boredom.

Sometimes crossing the border too far.

They led the game through centuries, both gods and demons, deadly bored and hungry for a change. Balancing on the verge of chaos and destruction, gods, in their oblivious cruelty, decided to allow humans to conquer the elvin lands. Unseens at the other hand, had to play different card and decided that downfall of human empire will be gratyfing and additionally returns the balance to the already too unbalanced strength placement in the world.

Choosing Raithea was effect of a long planned chess move. Raithea’s curse allowed them to enter his reality and show him their shadow selves, adapted to elvin eyes. He was powerful enough by himself to not lose additional universal power to train him and furious enough to be driven to do worst atrocities to achieve his ends. Giving him body of a child was natural influence of magic, which gives with one hand and takes with the other – even higher beings must submit they plans to magical order.

But Unseens or gods aren’t aware that the world already swings on the tip of a knife. Their moves twisted reality enough to make a force awaken in the core of the land. Influencing life, killing nature, destroying fertile grounds.

And that, my dear readers, was the unknown that freed Raithea from the demons’ clutches. Fed by both light and darkness, he can stop the gradually spreading blight and free the elves. Or he can fail miserably, making the world enter the realms of madness.

Unseens and gods don’t have higher emotions, like rage or fear,, but if the universe fell apart, they would cease to exist as well. Raithea has much more importance than they at first gave him – he can save the universe or make it burn in open wound of shattered realities.
